THE PLEASURE OF WINTER DRIVING
Every year more people are finding an outing with a big farm sleigh, cutter or fancy light two-seater sleigh is indeed a genuine pleasure. A sunny winter day with ample snow, nicely belled horses, and a warm lap robe, makes for a memorable outing. The smoothness of the ride over nicely packed snow, the rhythmic crunch of hooves and the tinkling of sleigh bells all add to the experience.
If you are lucky enough to be driving a fine original sleigh or cutter, it always makes for fascinating conversation with your passengers, especially if you know something of the history of the vehicle.
No dust, flies or jarring roads. Nothing but clear skies and the pure winter air. Of course, all this is dependent on decent snowfall! Invariably we always manage to get enough for good sledding. Long range forecasts are calling for good snow fall amounts in western Canada this winter. Plan now and join in the grand tradition of dashing through the snow!
